Crystal Bay Golf Club (former Legacy Crystal Bay Golf Resort) was designed by Japanese designed Thai Takenaka and opened for play in 1988 under the original name of Natural Park Resort. The course is located near Sriracha some 45 minutes from Pattaya and 1.5 hours from Bangkok. Described as a Hawaiian style course with palm tree lined holes, Crystal Bay Golf Club has good tee boxes, lush fairways and fair greens.
Crystal Bay Golf Club 27-hole layout comprises three nine-hole golf courses which vary in elevation and hazards. The course is a mixture of styled fairways with an occasional links-type hole. Water is omnipresent, mostly bordering fairways though some waterways do require a carry over water onto the green. Bunkers play an integral role in determining play, making precision shots imperative.
The club house needs some work and the golf course conditions vary through the year so it is good to check before heading to the golf course. A meal of Thai or International cuisine with an ice cold beer or soft drink in the clubhouse will complete a nice Pattaya golf day.
