Dungun, located in Terengganu, Malaysia, is a charming coastal town where life unfolds at a leisurely and unhurried pace. Nestled along the coastline, facing the serene South China Sea, you’ll find the peaceful and idyllic Kelab Golf Desa Dungun. This classic par-72 golf course spans 6,021 meters and offers a tranquil setting for golf enthusiasts. The second nine holes, known as the “Matured Trees,” stretch over 2,971 meters and present a challenge to even the most seasoned players. The course’s layout was meticulously designed by a renowned English golfer.
Kelab Golf Desa Dungun, managed by the state government, extends a warm welcome to all. This championship golf course consistently ranks among the top in Terengganu and holds the distinction of being the only club in the region registered with the Malaysia Golf Association.
Similar to many other smaller golf clubs in Malaysia, the Dungun course was established by expatriates, predominantly iron ore operators from Bukit Besi. Its simple layout features minimal water hazards and is adorned with majestic 50-year-old trees. Although the salty sea breeze has left a slight impact on the course, golfers have hardly been bothered by it.
