The Plutaluang Royal Thai Navy Golf Course, located approximately 30 minutes South of Pattaya towards Sattahip, was established in 1969. This course features 4 golf courses, each named after the cardinal points: North, South, East, and West. The course boasts 36 holes and is regarded as a source of pride for the Royal Thai Navy, having been constructed to take advantage of the area’s natural beauty. It is set amidst a wooded valley featuring a variety of mature trees, making it a must-play for nature enthusiasts.
Unlike modern golf courses in Thailand, which typically feature a professional golfer-designed course and a terrain created by construction firms, Plutaluang Royal Thai Navy Golf Course is an old-school natural golf course, offering some of the finest Asian golf experiences available.
The clubhouse has been recently refurbished and includes well-maintained lockers and showers. Although towels are chargeable, the pro-shop stocks basic golf items, and the restaurant provides excellent views of the golf course and surrounding hills. Drinks and Thai foods here are also reasonably priced. This makes it an excellent spot to conclude a round.
While Plutaluang Royal Thai Navy Golf Course may not be a first-class Pattaya golf course and is one of the oldest, it is still one of the most popular. The staff’s friendly attitude, natural layout, and affordable rates make for an enjoyable day of golfing in Pattaya.
