Shangri-La’s Hambantota Golf Club opened to guests in 2016 within the hotel grounds of Shangri-La’s Hambantota Resort & Spa. It is an 18-hole resort course designed by the world-famous golf architect Rodney Wright. With three decks of tees, this club provides tee-off chances to golfers of all abilities.

Shangri-La’s Hambantota Golf Club spreads across a coconut palm plantation, which offers not only stunning views but also exclusive challenges for golfers. This par 70 6107-yard course has three distinct zones with different characteristics, the Coconut Plantation, the Dune Area, and the Sapphire Mine.

The Coconut Plantation features lush fairways and demanding bunkers; it is the most testing in this resort course. The Dune Area showcases subtle elevation changes, while the Sapphire Mine remarks large greens and numerous water hazards.
