Sherwood Hills Golf Club

Sherwood Hills Golf Club is considered one of the best golf courses in the Philippines. It situates in Trece Matirez City – the historical capital of this country. In 2008, this golf club was ranked 85th out of the 100 best golf courses outside the United States. Once again in 2012, it was named in the list of 100 best by the “Rolex World’s Top 1000 Golf Courses.”

Designed by Jack Nicklaus – an American professional golfer, this impressive golf course is trademarked with large greens, wide fairways, challenging water hazards, and many bunkers. The larger the fairways, the wider the water hazards and bunkers. Sherwood Hills Golf Club uses cogon grass, which is very dense, to add more difficulties to the game.

Each hole of this course has different characteristics, so players will never feel bored from the beginning to the end of the tournament. The toughest hole is the 9th one because it requires a tee shot over demanding water hazards and bunkers. However, the 16th hole is said to be the signature of Sherwood Hills Golf Club. This par-3 hole is 192-yard long and plays uphill a green falling away into a range of bunkers.

With just nearly two hours’ driving south of Manila, Sherwood Hills Golf Club is an ideal destination for golfers at the weekend. There are also rooms for events such as meetings, weddings, parties, etc., but they need a reservation.
