Located within Jakarta city, Suvarna Jakarta Golf Club is a newly developed 27-hole championship golf course that opened in 2018 on the site of the old Halim 2 golf course. Unlike its predecessor, the new layout is an Indonesian ‘links’ design style, featuring riveted bunkers, burns, large green complexes, and strategic bunkering, combined with the best of the Indonesian landscape, including mature Mahogany trees, water features, and colorful native landscape. The fairways and tees are covered with the latest Zeon Zoysia Grass, while the greens are ultra-dwarf Bermuda grass, ensuring constant year-round playing conditions and fast green speeds.
The 27 holes of Suvarna Jakarta Golf Club are divided into three nine-hole loops (Red Course, Green Course, Blue Course), and the signature hole is the par-3 ninth on the Green Course, which features an island green. Another standout hole is the downhill fifth on the Blue Course, a challenging par-4 with a green complex positioned on a stone wall peninsula extending into a fish pond. One of Suvarna Jakarta’s most striking features is the ‘Elysian Field,’ integrating three par-5 finishing holes into a broad landform with shared fairways, cross-bunkering, meandering burns, and dozens of possible lines of play.
Caddies, who are friendly and well-groomed, are available to assist golfers with club selection, determining lines of putt, and handling bunker, turf, and club cleanliness duties. In dry weather, carts are allowed in the fairways, making Suvarna Jakarta unique among Jakarta golf courses. The clubhouse offers the usual golf services, including a pro shop, lockers, restaurant, and massage services, and features beautiful green spaces and extensive landscaping.
