Western Command Golf Club

Nestled within the premises of the Western Command headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in Palawan, you’ll discover the Western Command Golf Club, also referred to as the Puerto Prinsesa Golf Club. Previously known as the Western Command Golf Course and Tara Golf Club, this tranquil haven boasts a scenic golf course adorned with Acacia and Mahogany Trees that gracefully line the breezy fairways. The well-manicured greens are adorned with Tipton grass, lending an inviting appeal to the course.

The Western Command Golf Club stands out with its long, flat fairways, accompanied by strategically placed sand traps as formidable obstacles. The 9-hole Western Command Golf Club showcases a mix of small and large greens, carpeted with a combination of grass varieties, including Tipton grass. It’s worth noting that the proximity of the airport runway, situated a few hundred yards away, may introduce occasional noise and gusts of wind, posing an interesting challenge to players.

For the convenience and enjoyment of golf enthusiasts, the club offers various facilities to meet their needs. These amenities encompass pitching and putting greens, as well as a clubhouse housing a pro shop, restaurant, bar, and function room. Additionally, the club provides separate shower facilities for both male and female players.

Located a mere three kilometers from the city, the Western Command Golf Club finds its abode within the camp of the Western Command of the AFP and the 570th Composite Tactical Wing of the Philippine Air Force. The club enjoys proximity to the serene Kalayaan Beach and the airport.
