Yangon City Golf Resort, also known as the YCDC Golf Club, is home to two 18-hole courses: the Silvery Course (Ngwe Thaw Tar) and the Pondy Course (Myakantha Course). The Silvery Course was opened in 1994 and measures approximately 7,000 yards from the back tees, while the Yangon City Golf Resort – Pondy Course, opened in 1996, is a shorter layout at 6,208 yards. The Pondy Course was designed by Kyi Hla Han, the former executive chairman of the Asian Golf Tour.
Both courses offer a unique and challenging experience for golfers. The Silvery Course is located on a flat plain and features forgiving fairways and flat greens, making it a great choice for average golfers. Yangon City Golf Resort – Pondy Course, on the other hand, is more challenging due to its tighter fairways and large overhanging trees that require greater precision.
Yangon City Golf Resort is known for hosting Asian PGA Tour events in 1998 and 1999, and is known for its well-maintained fairways and greens. Located about 40 minutes north of Yangon City, the resort is a must-visit for golfers traveling to Myanmar.
