Located 80 kilometers north of Bangkok, Ayutthaya was the first capital of Thailand back in 1767, and today, its ruins form the Ayutthaya Historical Park, an archaeological site that showcases palaces, Buddhist temples, monasteries, and statues. Despite the city’s rich history, golf in the area is a relatively new activity. Some notable Ayutthaya golf courses are Bangsai Country Club (opened in 1996), Muang Ake Wang Noi Golf Course (opened in 2006), and Northern Rangsit Golf Club (opened in 1993). Although the courses in the area are primarily set up for local golfers, they welcome foreigners with open arms.
